Mercury MerCruiser Yamaha Johnson & Evinrude
The pictures above show the process of pulling a Mercruiser V8 out of a boat.
Pictures show the process of pulling a small block Mercruiser V8 engine at our shop in Jupiter , Florida. One or two men guiding the engine out while the lift operator lifts the engine, then the engine is temporarily set on blocks on the floor so the bell housing, flywheel and coupler are removed, and then the engine is bolted to a stand to complete dis-assembly. At this point we can send the block to our machine shop for inspection, to see if it is rebuild-able.
Proper regular service will give you years of less expensive boat use. Failing to perform service will cause your boat to become the "hole in the water you just pour money into" it is less expensive to replace manifolds than a complete engine. Even Outboards need regular service, simple things caught during a service will keep you from breaking down on the water.
